It's been a long time since a meaningful game has been played on Thanksgiving day. However this year the undefeated Packers meet division rival Detroit Lions at Ford field. This game may go a long way to prove one way or another that the Packers are worthy of being undefeated.

Packers 7-0 at the break
Looking at the opponents upcoming for the Packers it seems concievable that the Packers could run the table on the regular season, but just like what happened yesterday to the Saints, it's easy to let down your guard or overlook an opponent. The best approach is to play fundamental football and keep moving foward.

A few areas need to get better
If the Pack is to go deep into the playoffs and few things need to improve in order for that to happen. For the most part the offense seems to be pretty steady in it's approve.
But giving up an average of 400 yrds per game can certainly come back to bite you. I hope as in previous years the defense gets better as the year goes on, if that happens then expect good things to happen in the playoffs.

Iran poses an interesting problem
So we have good old Iran trying to start trouble under the guise of individual suspects. The problem in dealing with Iran is the fact that if they don't already have nuclear wepeons capability they are certainly getting close. Iran is a problem that just won't go away and it make to military action to put a clamp on these idiots. Anybody that totally rejects the idea of the holocaust is either smoking some bad weed or is simply looking for trouble. Keep in mind Israel is keeping a very close eye on Iran knowing that the safety of their country is fragile and having someone like Iran who would like nothing more than to obliderate you from the face of the earth would make anybody a little nervous.
If may be time to put some seriou sanctions on Iran and either make them put up or shut up.

The difference between a good team and a bad team
In past years the Packers would seem to find ways to lose close games that were really heartbreakers. Now the opposite has occurred. Take the game last night the Pack was down 14-0 but clawed their way back and ended up with a comfortable win. Even injuries to key players haven't dampened the spirits the players or the coaching staff.

Packer offense firing on all cyliders
I would hate to be a defensive coordinator game planning the Green Bay Packers. Just when you think you got them figured out they switch it up and go a different way. There is no easy solution to try to keep pace with them. I just hope they get the defense straigthened out.

Media makes a bad situation even worse
IF you think of the media as a bunch of sharks swimming in the mote outside the castle you would probably be pretty close to the truth. Take the presidential campaigns. These guys are so busy playing oneupsmanship that sometimes they sacrifice the truth for speed.
If your not in the loop as far as keeping abreast of all the current happenings in politics then you would be hard pressed to get the real truth from the press. I think it's time for all the talking heads to be quiet and let the people make up their own minds. These are difficult times and the last think we need is to be mis-informed by the media for the sole purpose of getting ratings.

3 and 0 start!
So far so good in 2011. Keep in mind we have two really tough games coming up with Detroit and one of them is on Thanksgiving day. I guess we'll be serving lion instead of turkey that day.

The new season is off and running.
2011 Nfl football is officially under way. The Packers opener against the Saints showed the offense of off and running. However special teams and "D" look to have a little work to do. I have faith that Capers will make the proper adjustments and put things back on track.
So Sunday the Pack will have a change to teach Cam Newton a few things about playing in the NFL>

One week and counting
Next Thursday night the Packers play in Saints in the NFL season opener. This time the meter is running and they play for real. We should get a pretty good look at what the Packers look like this year.

Defense seems to have it's work cut out
After watching the Colts game Friday night it seems like either the defense is really rusty or there are some weakness in the front line. I know it's only pre-season but sometimes it makes you wonder if what you seeing is for real or not.

It's time to put the Farve issue behind us
Yea, I know Farve's career kinda left Packer fans with a bad taste in their mouth. But the fact is he did give us a lot of exciting football during those years and another Lombardi trophy. Sooner than later he will be inducted into the football hall of fame. I guess as time passes the good memories will return and the bad memories will fade. I still have lots of Farve memoribilia on my Packer room wall and lots of games he played in recorded. Just like Joe Montana sooner or later Packer fans will embrace Farve back into the Packer legend and all will be well.

New season brings new hope
With Superbowl 45 behind them the Packers enter into the 2011 season. With most of the main cast back and injured players returning from last year it promises to be an interesting year.
We'll see how the Packers react to being world champs knowing every other team is licking their chops at a chance to beat the world champs. Rodgers is still a young QB and the receiving core is one of the best if not the best in the game. The real question is the defensive line. I hope some of the young guys can step up to the challenge.
So for all you Packer fans get ready for some exciting football!!!
