Jim Irwin was a special guy

Living in the South Bend, In area we have had our share of great radio voices over the years, but listening to the Packer games with Jim Irwin and Max Mcgee was something special. Irwin brought reality to the broadcast and told it like it was. If the game was going good they would express that feeling and if somebody screwed up they didn't have any problem getting on them. We'll miss you Jim!

The lessor of two evils wins the Super bowl

No I'm not a Giants fan but I surely wasn't rooting for the Patriots! Hopefully Ted Thompson will find a way to beef up the defense so is the offense has a bad day they can help. In my mind we shouldn't have let Nick Barnett or Cullen Jenkins go! Sometimes a winning football team is like a finely tuned car, you mess with the spark plugs and all of a sudden you have problems. Maybe we should try to trade Matt Flynn for a number of draft choices that we can use to help build the defense back up.

It takes time to learn how to become president

So here we have it every four years the United States goes thru the ritual of electing a new president. I don't care what party your from or what you beliefs are no person is really prepared to face the daily barrage of problems and duties a president must carry out. Most of the really great presidents didn't always get off the a fast start. Take the example of Abraham Lincoln. In the first couple of years he was stumbling around like a blind man and then with purpose he took control of the civil war and what it meant and became one of the cornerstones of American history.
