How this whole thing will go down, no one knows except for Brett, he does have the option to just show up when training camp opens and then he will force the Packers hand. They would either have to cut him, trade him or just let him compete.
I guess I just don't understand how Brett could think ill of the Packers for not simply dropping everything when he decides he wants to come back. Football is a business and when someone tells the boss he's quiting and the boss hires someone to replace him, how can he expect them to do anything else?
He was the one after all the pulled the trigger on the whole retirement thing, if he had any doubts about retiring then that was the time to hold up instead of jumping the gun. The wheels of progress then started turning in order to prepare the team for the upcoming season.
