July 28, 2008 could be a showdown between the Packer organization and self-retired QB Brett Favre. Favre has said he will show up when training camp opens on Monday. The Packer organization has held firm to their decision to move on after repeated attempts to get Brett to change his mind about retirement.
Now the Packers has vowed to move ahead with plans to field their team after the post-Favre era.
I say a card layed is a car played. Favre can't expect the team to jump through hoops when he changes his mind and decides he wants to play this year. We have been riding this roller coaster for about 4 years now, waiting after each season to see what his decision would be concerning playing next year. I frankly think the whole thing was a big distraction that was unnecessary. Either you want to play or you don't, and even though Favre's record and reputation will remain intact, this latest round of selfish decisions leaves a bad taste in the average fans mouth.
